In addition to a dedicated walrus exhibit this facility also operates the Blue Ocean Conservation and Rescue Center (蓝海保育救护中心), which serves as a quarantine and holding facility for the park's marine animals in addition to being authorized to rescue and rehabilitate local wildlife. The Conservation Center is equipped with a dedicated space for walruses.

This facility has made multiple attempts to import walruses Rossita and Olivia from Dolfinarium Harderwijk since 2019, for which there has been numerous legal hurdles and as a result several permits filed for their export. As of this writing in April of 2022 the Dolfinarium has filed for yet another permit and is awaiting governmental approval prior to the animals being transferred.
