Notes and Information

Siegfried was purchased for $3,350, "far below what had been asked for by the animal dealer".

Siegfried was blinded in his left eye during capture, and had been suffering from "an accute sinus condition" upon arrival to Saint Louis. He was noted to have had "some sight impairment" in his right eye.
