Notes and Information

This walrus is suspected to have been one of the Srednyaya Six -- wild-caught in 2018 and held for export to China at the TINRO Center in Srednyaya Bay, prior to being transferred to Yalta in 2019 and later consfiscated by the Russian government, at which point the five surviving individuals were transferred to Moscow. If this proves to be true, this individual would be a duplicate of this profile. Moskvarium has failed to respond to inquiries regarding this individual's origin, and thus this information remains uncertain at this time.

Nova may have been sighted at Moskvarium as early as June of 2022, although her presence wasn't confirmed until November. If the assumption that she is one of the Srednyaya Six is correct, she was likely transferred to the facility at some point between September of 2021 and March of 2022.
